Dr. Weiqing Gu is a researcher in predictive models and anomaly detection in Machine Learning with a focus on precision diagnosis. She has experience in the geometry of manifolds and computational geometry, and has applied this to problems in dynamics and control theory. She has a background in teaching mathematics and was selected by the American Mathematical Society to present research to the US Congress in 2007. She has worked as a program manager at the NSF and has experience in Big Data Analytics for the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency. Dr. Gu has published 36 papers in various fields and has created courses to bridge the gap between industry and academia. She has worked with over 50 companies through Harvey Mudd’s clinic program, taught at Harvey Mudd College and Claremont Graduate University, and has industry collaborations during summers. Dr. Gu has a broad understanding of math and the ability to integrate components of complicated systems.
